In the Zone - Rough Sleepers Accommodation Programme (RSAP)

Over the past few weeks, we have run a series of articles to highlight the great work of each team and allow them to talk about their successes, what makes the HF great and give them a space to talk about their key achievements.

In the last of the current series, we turn our attention to the Rough Sleepers Accommodation Programme (RSAP) team who are doing incredible things to help homeless people across Greater Manchester.

Team members: Rhiannon Fieldson (Great Places), Victoria Romero (Jigsaw), Laura Casserley (Jigsaw), Hollie Atkinson (Great Places), Salah Abdisamad (Great Places), Kevin Coyne (Riverside).

What is your team’s top 3 biggest achievements?

  1. The people we have helped move on to their own long-term tenancies is very satisfying.

  2. Helping people to help themselves build a better future for them and their families.

  3. Partnership working. We are a team made up of people from three organisations, working with multiple agencies and services across Greater Manchester we have worked with partners to make a difference in people’s lives.

What makes your team unique?

We come from very different backgrounds and have very different experiences so no matter what challenge arises, there’s always someone who can help.

Tell us something interesting/surprising about your team?

We never take no for an answer! We often hear that word from authorities and services, but we never give up and get to the right conclusion for our customer.

What thing as a team are you most proud of?

The way we have changed lives and made a difference. Even if a customer takes small steps, it makes a huge difference and builds to something greater.

What piece of advice/best practice would you give to other teams working in the multiple disadvantage space?

Listen and give space. We’ve heard from customers that RSAP is the most valuable service they have worked with because people listen to them and hear what they have to say to find the right way forward.

Sum up your team in three words?

Dynamic/Empathetic/Resilient.
